Overview

For FY26, and going forward, the budgeting process will be different due to changes in technology. Attached is the Excel document we will use to collect the Program budgets. Please use the info on this page as a guideline for the process and the document instructions.

 Process Workflow

  • Save attached EXCEL to your files, renaming using the naming convention "FY_ _ Program Budget - Your program name". For example: FY27 Program Budget - Fiscal Services
  • Enter your anticipated revenue (if any) and expenses for the fiscal year (see below for instructions).
  • Send the document to your manager for approval.
  • Your manager will consult with you if any changes are needed and send final budget document to Kelly.Pyfferoen@rctc.edu.
  • Submission due date will be shared via email before the process begins.
  • Final budgets will be entered into Adaptive Planning by the Business Office and transferred to Workday.

 Instructions

  • Review prior year approved budget (link in row 13 of EXCEL spreadsheet).
  • Select your program number from the drop down list under Program # or start typing the name of your program or old cost center number, and it should populate.
  • Enter your name in the Completed By box .
  • If you normally receive revenue, select the category from the drop-down list under the category section.
  • Enter a brief description of the request.
  • Enter notes if needed.
  • Enter the estimated amount.
  • The total should calculate in the total revenue column.
  • Follow the same process for expenses.
