How to view and request employee default Work Schedules in Workday.  Example: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Before you begin:

NOTE: There are a multiple avenues to accomplish tasks in Workday

...either through the main Menu (upper left side):

 

...through the user's View Profile (upper right side), then Actions button (left side):


..then...

 

...or when already in a topical area, the three-dot ellipsis Actions menu, located to the right of your name:

 

Provided documentation may differ and refer to one or the other navigational options. 

 

How to view and change your work schedule:

  • View your current work schedule:
    • Step 1. In Workday select Menu, then Time.  (...or View Profile, then Actions.)
      NOTE: If you do not see the "Time" app icon the first time you access Workday, go to:
       Menu, then "Add Apps", then search for "Time" and Add (+) the "Time" app.
       
    • Step 2. Select My Schedule.  This will display your current schedule.  The default is 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
       
  • Change the work schedule:
    • Step 1. Having gone through the above steps to view your schedule, select the ellipsis next to your name. 
    • Step 2. Under Actions, select Time and Absence, then Request Work Schedule.
    • Step 3. Select a Start Date, an End Date* (if applicable), and Work Schedule Calendar.
      NOTE: Leaving End Date blank will make it ongoing.
    • Step 4. Select OK
    • Step 5. Review and Submit. This will submit the Work Schedule Request to your manager for approval.
