Set Primary E-mail Address

Audience

Students and Employees attending more than one MinnState college or university.

Overview

If you attend more than one Minnstate college or university (example: RCTC and Riverland, RCTC and Winona State) you will be issued an email address for each respective college or university.

Issue

Your e-mail address being sent to others, is different than what you are expecting (example: riverland.edu vs. my.rctc.edu).  External E-mail is being delivered to a different inbox than what you are expecting (example: riverland.edu vs. my.rctc.edu).

Resolution

You can set your PRIMARY e-mail address inbox at which you receive messages, and e-mail address that others see, when you send messages.

Before you begin...

Make sure you are signed in to the Star ID Managment Portal

Instructions

1. Visit: https://starid.minnstate.edu/
2.  Select "Sign Into Profile", the 2nd box.
3. Log in with Star ID credentials.
4. Select the "Office 365 Contact" tab up on the top, in the middle. 
5. Change your PRIMARY email to RCTC's email.
6. Once you make this change, allow 24 hours for the change to take effect.

Result

Your primary e-mail inbox and delivery e-mail address will be set to the Minnstate institution of your choice. Preferably RCTC.
