Hill Theater Dealing with Power Outage

This KBase is designed to assist if a Power Outage results in the room not functioning normally.

3.0      Steps to Follow

1.     Start the Room as normal. (See “KBase - Hill Theater smartroom instructions”)  If the room appears to not function properly, possibly due to a Power Outage or Power Spike, go to Step 2)

Using the Podium-

2.     Confirm that the Podium has Power AND that the Computer is Powered.

3.     Test the TouchPanel Options in the following Steps(see List Below for Process If any Step Fails)

 

 


                                                          

 

 

Step 1 – Clock is Incorrect

 

Possible Causes = DMPS Switcher not “communicating” with the TouchPanel or the Clock in the DMPS is not set to the proper time

1)     Check That the DMPS Switcher is Powered on

2)     If the Switcher Appears to be functioning, then:

a.     Do an orderly shutdown of the computer

b.     Unplug “Snake” Power Plug to ShutDown & plug back in to ReStart the Podium

3)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team use the “Crestron Toolbox” to access and reset the Time OR Diagnose the issue to a deeper level.

Step 2 – Screen Doesn’t respond to Up & Down

1)     Have the Crestron Team use the “Crestron Toolbox” to Access and Test Relay Commands.

Step 3 – Projector Doesn’t Power On, Off or Blank

1)     Look for Power Indicator Lights on the Projector

2)     Test Projector with the Remote Control (Found up in the Control Room)

3)     Test Projector Power from the Control Room TouchPanel

4)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team continue with in-depth Diagnostics.

 

Step 4 – Test the Podium Mic for Volume and Control

1)     Check that the “Small System Amp Rack” is powered on and off with the Podium TouchPanel (Room On will automatically power this rack.)

2)     Check that the “Small Classroom Amp” hasn’t been manually powered off.

3)     Check that the “Small System Amp Rack” hasn’t been unplugged.

4)     Confirm that the Podium Mic XLR Plugs are routed into the Small Amp.

5)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team continue with in-depth Diagnostics.

Step 5 – Test the Switcher Functions, selecting different Sources

1)     If Sources are not switching as directed, confirm the Computer is Powered and Active

2)     Watch DMPS Switcher indicators to confirm that switching is occurring as selected

3)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team continue with in-depth Diagnostics.

Step 6 – Test the Program Volume

1)     With a Music Video Selected on the Podium/Room Computer AND confirming that Computer is “Volume Normalized, with No stage of the audio muted” … Test the Program Volume

2)     IF you’ve been successful with the Podium Microphone playing through the “Small System Amp Rack”, THEN you know The Audio from the DMPS Switcher, through the Snake, to the Small Amp is functional.

3)     Confirm that the Program XLR Plugs are routed into the Small Amp.

4)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team continue with in-depth Diagnostics.

 

Step 7 – Test the Wireless Mics

1)     Locate the Red & Yellow labeled Wireless Mics in the “Small System Amp Rack”

2)     Confirm sufficient Battery power in the Mics

3)     Confirm both Receivers are Powered On (located above the small rack)

4)     Test Mic levels, Volume adjustments and Muting.

5)     If Issue Unresolved, Have the Crestron Team continue with in-depth Diagnostics.

 

This Concludes the Systematic Steps for diagnosis and resolution of Basic Class Functions in the Hill Theater Tier 1 Teaching Environment.
